You play as Hemlock, an alchemist from a fallen dynasty, that due to a series of unfortunate events is currently fighting for his life.

Hemlock fights using his concoctions, and as you survive you will unlock new ones and improve the ones you have. There are currently 41 different upgrades in the game, and 9 unique poisons that can interact with each other, and with themselves.

New poisons can be unlocked when upgrading. A few are rarer than others. Currently, the hardest one to find is Decay. Finding out what each poison does trough the upgrade texts is a part of the fun, so I am not going to spoil anything here.

As you try to survive, the game will cycle through 14 difficulties, and after the 14th one, will continue indefinitely. A run usually takes around 10 minutes to be completed, if you stop once you reach the last difficulty.
